I even hooked it up to an old Powerbook G4 running OS 9.2 and connected to it via ethernet cable directly. I turned it on and off and did everything else to it I could think of. When tried to print to it, it continually said that it could not be found OR that the printer was busy. But now there was no connection while trying the ping even though I had the right address. I tried to ping it, since I knew the IP address I'd assigned it using an old copy of the printer manager program it started with under OS 9. The LW 16/600 was connected to the printer with a simple ethernet cord. I had previously been using an older Airport Extreme and had used IP printing to find and make the LW 16/600 work just fine, with all it's bells and whistles and CHEAP printing.
